Apple TV is going to be the next big electronic device that everyone will want to buy. It is smaller and less expensive than the older model they created. Steve Jobs, the genius that he is, went straight to the customers to ask of their opinion. They returned their advice to him and he responded accordingly.
I agree with what the customers wanted: HD, lower prices, and don’t want a computer. I loved finding out that he actually was able to connect the television with the Internet so that people can see YouTube videos on the set.
The only thing it cannot do, due to Steve Job’s interpretation of customer opinions, is the viewing of video on other sites, including Facebook. I think that is the right move. People need a break from Facebook. Most of the videos I see on that site are usually from YouTube anyway. You do not need to have Facebook, and other video sites, when you sit down to watch television.
People are never satisfied. They are always left wanting more, and will not rest until all their spontaneous demands are met. Steve Jobs has a big and crazy job ahead of him and he will have to choose between his own opinions and the opinions of the consumers.

Fjordi,
ReplyDeleteSo actually I am commenting on the last two posts. I find them contradictory. You say that television is dying out in “What Should Replace the Conventional Network TV Model?” and that is it being replaced the internet. Yet here in this post you stated “I agree with what the customers wanted: HD, lower prices, and don’t want a computer. I loved finding out that he actually was able to connect the television with the Internet so that people can see YouTube videos on the set.” What exactly is the difference between a television with internet access and a computer with internet access? One uses a remote, while the other functions with a keyboard? I am sorry, I just don’t see it. I think Jobs is wasting Apple’s time and money by pursuing this project.
Interesting article and posts, nonetheless. I like the fact that you drifted from the Media Decoder.
Also, your blog looks awesome! I love the use of photos throughout.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm glad you wrote this blog because I had been wanting to find out more information about the Apple TV. What I find interesting is we have seen different commercials for Sony TV but have yet to see a commercial for this. I agree that we all need a break from Facebook, but I am sure that people will complain that they can't get on so even if it doesn't have the ability to do that now, I'm sure it will in the future.
ReplyDeleteI like your last paragraph because it is so true. We as humans are never satisfied, we can have brand new technology and as soon as something comes out, we don't want it anymore. And we have seen that with plenty of other technology like phones and iPods.
Great Blog!
