Many users get hooked on a website by playing games, social networking, or emailing. Designers use this type of interaction to attract audiences. Personalization of content is important to certain sites. For example, Amazon offers “products that you may like” based on what you have bought or searched in the past.
Webby awards state that lots of empty dark spaces (any color) with small print, intriguing flash animations, and large graphic design spaces are the most effective. Sony and Nike Women have gotten high marks for this. I agree with the Webby awards. That type of format is cleaner are more professional than one with huge words, no space, and plain looking.
